25/04/2015: I have one remaining gooseberry on the allotment out of the three originally planted a few years ago. All of the plants suffered significant damage as the site foxes seem to like using them as scratching plants and are quiet aggressive. I also have a sawfly problem so get no fruit on the plant so I can't currently identify which variety is remaining. As the surviving plant was now being very overcrowded by the plum tree it has been transplanted, at completely the wrong time, into a less shaded spot next to the strawberry bed.
04/05/2015: Despite the abuse the gooseberry looks healthy and has now been given a coir mulch.
