The tree chillies, capsicum pubescens, are actually a shrub with hairy and sticky leaves. They should produce fiery hot chillies but last year I kept them as a houseplant and they failed to fruit. This year I will be moving them out into the garden for the summer and then back into the house as they will overwinter but are not frost hardy. Unfortunately they are a somewhat unruly house guest as the sticky leave regularly drop and then stick firmly to the floor, I keep mine on wooden floor boards so this is a minor menace but I would not recommend standing them over harder to clean flooring such as carpets.
